Early January 2015, the Trio and three top Dutch string players record a new CD featuring Copland, Kliphuis, Ellington, Grappelli, Fauré and many others. The location is the oldest, art deco studio in Hilversum, Holland’s Radio&TV city. The six players are recorded solely with DPA microphones. Pre-order with a discount HERE.
Tim Kliphuis and his Trio are now DPA artists after signing an agreement with the Danish microphone makers. The DPA 4099 quickly became the top clip-on microphone for strings after its release, used worldwide for orchestral and band amplification and recording. Kliphuis has been using the 4099 since 2010.
From 25 October to 2 November, the Tim Kliphuis Trio tour Scotland and the Highlands. The special concert in Inverness (28 October) features three top Scottish chamber musicians, Greg Lawson, violin; Andrew Berridge, viola and Su-a Lee, cello. Tickets still available, info here.
